How to Structure an ELA Training Circuit
ELA Circuit Training uses research from circuit fitness regimens to scaffold student learning with language skills/strategies targeted at each student’s readiness level. This PD Byte investigates ELA circuit training, shows how to set up scaffolded stations, and provides a template for building your own ELA circuit cards. You'll explore ELA circuit stations—patterned after traditional circuit fitness workouts—that address concepts such as vocabulary development (ES), inferencing (MS), and character analysis (HS). The key is ensuring that each student is challenged at their own skill level so they move quickly toward mastery of the language content.
