
Practical Application Course List

The LoTi Framework online course explores the LoTi (Levels of Technology Implementation) Framework, a scale designed to accurately measure effective technology use and instructional practices. Through focus activities, readings, discussions and assignments, participants will understand the concept of the levels and be able to assess classroom activities according to the framework.
The first course in the H.E.A.T. series, The High Level Thinking Processes online course explores the principles of Bloom’s Taxonomy in order to analyze and improve instructional activities. Through focus activities, readings, discussions and assignments, participants will understand each of the levels and be able to assess and redesign classroom activities to reach Bloom’s higher levels.
The second component in the H.E.A.T. series, the Engaging Students online course explores strategies for engaging students and encouraging an active role in the classroom. Through focus activities, readings, discussions and assignments, participants will understand how to create focus activities and essential questions that also reflect 21st century learning.
The third course in the H.E.A.T. series, The Authenticity online course focuses on ways to infuses greater authenticity into student learning experiences. Through focus activities, readings, discussions and assignments, participants will understand how to find resources and create activities that are more relevant to students.
The Technology Tools online course explores a variety of FREE online tools and how they can be used effectively in student learning experiences. Through focus activities, readings, discussions and assignments, participants will understand how to use these tools effectively and reflect on their implementation with students.
The Learning Modalities online course addresses the use of learning styles assessments and the Multiple Intelligences learning theory. Through focus activities, readings, discussions and assignments, participants will understand how to design lesson plans and activities to address the needs of all learners.
The Student Success in the Classroom online course explores the factors that influence student’s success. Through focus activities, readings, discussions and assignments, participants will understand Marzano’s Nine Instructional Strategies and how they can contribute to student success.
The Few Computer Classroom online course defines the few computer classroom and provides strategies for instructing in this environment. Through focus activities, readings, discussions and assignments, participants will understand how to manage activities and design for the few computer classroom.
The Performance-based Assessment online course defines the concept and explores how to find these types of assessments online. Through focus activities, readings, discussions and assignments, participants will understand how to analyze and design performance-based assessments.
The Collaborative Learning Environments online course explores online communication and collaboration tools for instruction. Through focus activities, readings, discussions and assignments, participants will understand how to use these online tools effectively in the classroom collaborative learning environment.
The Essential vs Engaging Questions and Focus Strategies online course explores the concept of questioning and specifically examines essential versus engaging questions. Through focus activities, readings, discussions and assignments, participants will understand how to create focus activities based on the design of effective questioning for both students and teacher.
The Experiential-based Action Model online course explores for EBAM model for unit planning. Through focus activities, readings, discussions and assignments, participants will understand the concept of EBAM and how to critique and design EBAM units.
