LoTi Benchmarking Protocol

Improving your students’ academic achievement on statewide standardized tests without compromising the tenets of Digital Age Best Practices or the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) is the cornerstone of the LoTi Benchmarking process. This benchmarking system (1) possesses the look and feel of the actual statewide assessment, (2) measures what has already been taught, (3) guarantees an efficient turn-around time for data analysis and summary, and (4) includes targeted and engaging follow-up interventions for students at a LoTi 3 or higher.

The LoTi benchmarking system (1) possesses the look and feel of your statewide assessment, (2) measures what has already been taught, (3) is aligned to the Common Core State Standards, (4) guarantees an efficient turn-around time for data analysis and summary, and (5) includes targeted and engaging curriculum resources for students. The included curriculum resources (e.g., LoTi Lessons, LoTi Skill Builders) help contextualize student understanding of fundamental math and literacy concepts by turning up the H.E.A.T. on student learning. These resources can be easily retrofitted to match your school system’s existing curriculum.

LoTi Lessons

One key ingredient in your recipe for success is a series of lesson plans we call LoTi Lessons that align with your statewide test specifications, the Common Core Curriculum Standards, and 21st Century Skills. LoTi Investigations are specific and targeted interventions that help contextualize student understanding of fundamental math and literacy concepts by turning up the H.E.A.T. (Higher order thinking, Engaged learning, Authentic connections, Technology use) on student learning.

LoTi Lessons are available for elementary (Grades 3-5) and intermediate (Grades 6-8) Mathematics and Language Arts Literacy.

H.E.A.T. Walkthrough Protocol

Achieving student academic success and improving teacher effectiveness cannot be accomplished with a single solution, but instead requires a series of complementary strategies, frameworks, and resources aimed at improving student achievement. The H.E.A.T. Walkthrough Protocol enables districts to determine the fidelity of classroom alignment to district instructional initiatives, H.E.A.T. (Higher order thinking, Engaged learning, Authentic connections, Technology use), Digital Age Best Practices, and state mandates and requirements (e.g., New Jersey CAPA (Collaborative Assessment for Planning and Achievement), Pennsylvania Common Core Standards).

Effective External Monitoring

WHAT GETS MEASURED, GETS IMPROVED!

While having the will to implement is the first step in the change process, consistent monitoring of the campus action plan throughout the school year is the only way to guarantee results.

The monitoring of campus action plans occurs in all facets of the implementation cycle. Many districts turn to LoTi to monitor (1) the quality and consistency of their walkthrough implementation, (2) student acquisition of the critical math and literacy content through benchmarking, and (3) the level of innovative teaching practices through in-class modeling and co-teaching.
